Kuvaus
Regardless of the application, batteries are ubiquitous—starting with portable devices, smartphones, and laptops, moving through electric vehicles of various sizes, and ending at large energy storage systems to support smart grids and renewable energy generators. Battery producers use different fabrication technologies and testing methods to determine their performance. This course offers students both theoretical and practical principles of battery cell fabrication and testing.
- Introduction to various battery architectures and chemistries
- Battery components and cell fabrication methods
- Overview of battery cells testing (electrochemical and EIS)
- Testing protocol design and good practices
Osaamistavoitteet
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- identify and classify battery cells’ architectures and chemistries
- list and explain different methods of battery cell fabrication
- classify and compare various methods of battery cells testing methods
- interpret and assess the results of battery testing
- design basic test protocols for different battery cells
