- Explain fundamental concepts and service models for cloud computing.
- Containers/workloads/applications
- Storage solutions (databases, object stores/S3, block storages)
- Infrastructure (ingresses, firewalls, dns, networks/VPC)
- Explain cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), deployment models (public, hybrid, edge), and shared responsibility.
- Describe containerization, orchestration, and serverless ways to build scalable services.
- Understand cloud security principles (least privilege, identity/IAM, encryption, zero trust) and cost and sustainability (FinOps approach).
- Decide when to own vs. rent infrastructure by balancing cost, risk, and strategic factors.
- Use the Well-Architected Framework to evaluate cloud solutions.
- Design and present a small-scale cloud project that integrates technical, financial, and architectural considerations.
- Develop the ability to employ AI responsibly and critically by evaluating the reliability, provenance, and limitations of AI‑generated information.
- Develop the interpersonal and self‑management skills needed to participate authentically and effectively in group and team settings while upholding the collaborators' perspectives, values, and professional identities. The student contributes meaningfully and supports the group in achieving its objectives.
