The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamental characteristics of digital games, and how games are built on software and electronic platforms.
Osaamistavoitteet
On completion of this course the student will be able to
● understand the specificity of digital games and cultural creations
● critically discuss the fundamental principles how game mechanics and game elements engage players
● are able to analyse how games may appropriate elements and practices from other cultural products
● analyse different game types, and different players and play practices
