Kuvaus

The aim of this course is to introduce and critically discuss the main research orientations in game studies. Special emphasis is placed on the latest digital research methods and infrastructures

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course the student will be able to

● identify major research directions in games studies

● critically discuss the fundamental principles and topics in game studies from an interdisciplinary perspective

● perceive different cultural perspectives and values and appreciate cultural diversity related to games and play

● analyse different game types, and different players and play practices

● contribute to game production and design processes with research-based understanding
