This course is designed for graduate students to delve deeper into the foundational concepts of organizational theories while combining philosophy of science. Students will explore the evolution, intersection, and application of organizational theories and philosophy of science in various professional settings, fostering a critical understanding of organizational dynamics and the epistemological bases of scientific inquiry.
The course reviews classic theories of organization as well as introduces current issues and modes of inquiry within organizational theory. The course also reviews philosophical underpinnings and major paradigms in the study of management and organizations.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
Identify and discuss major organizational theories.
Analyze the historical and philosophical roots of the science underpinning organizational research.
Critique and compare different epistemological positions in the philosophy of science.
Understand the implications of various organizational theories for real-world applications.
Develop and articulate a personal position on the integration of organizational theory and philosophy of science.
