TEKS4406 Innovation and Change in IT sector (5 op)

The course builds on three premises: driving innovation, driving strategic change, and managing teams. This course is designed to equip students with the latest knowledge and skills needed to drive innovation in the information technology (IT) field, lead diverse IT teams and manage transformational initiatives within various organizational settings.

This course provides insights into the theories, models, frameworks, and practical methods that make organizations more innovative and thereby more competitive. Students will explore the dynamic interplay between innovation and organizational change especially in the IT sector. Students will gain knowledge on how different processes can be strategically leveraged to enhance an organization’s resilience and competitiveness.

After completing the course, the student is able to:

• Explain the importance of innovation and change especially in the information technology (IT) sector
• Analyze different innovation and change models in IT sector
• Apply change management frameworks in driving innovation and change in IT sector
• Integrate design thinking principles and creativity into the innovation and change process in IT sector
• Develop leadership skills to manage teams through innovation and change in IT sector
