EKIS2003 Texts and Multiliteracies (5 op)
Avainteksti
Kuvaus
Etymologically, the term text originates from the Latin verb texere, meaning “to weave, to join, to construct.” The question is how the elements are woven together to make meaning. In this course, we will extend the traditional notions of text and literacy to capture the multiple means and modalities of communication and the growing significance of cultural and linguistic diversity. We unpack the term multiliteracies both as an ideological concept and as a collective term for various literacies. The course integrates activities of art and play to allow participants to experiment with multiliteracy practices.
