Kuvaus

This master-level entrepreneurship course is designed to immerse students in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship, blending theoretical insights with practical application It starts with the basics, showing why the skills needed for entrepreneurship matter for everyone, not just for those who want to start their own companies. Students will explore the nuances of entrepreneurial mindset, learning how it influences decision-making, creativity, and opportunity recognition in various contexts.


As the course progresses, participants will delve into the complexities of entrepreneurship as a practice. Through a series of cases and interactive seminars, students will examine the intricacies of identifying and developing opportunities, the importance of an action-oriented approach, and the critical role of mindset in navigating the entrepreneurial journey. The curriculum covers the spectrum from ideation to execution, addressing key aspects such as leadership in entrepreneurial organizations, team dynamics, resource management, and entrepreneurial planning. By the end, students will know more about how to think and act like an entrepreneur, ready to bring new ideas to life in any setting.

Osaamistavoitteet

On successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
  • analyze and differentiate between various entrepreneurial competencies and understand their applicability in both entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial settings
  • critically evaluate different entrepreneurial motivations and behaviors, and understand the impact of mindset and habits on entrepreneurial success
  • apply creative and improvisational skills to identify and develop entrepreneurial opportunities, recognizing the distinction between opportunity creation and discovery
  • demonstrate an understanding of the entrepreneurial method, including the balance between prediction and creation approaches, and the role of deliberate practice in mastering entrepreneurship
  • employ design thinking and customer-centric approaches to generate innovative ideas and convert them into viable business opportunities- understand the essentials of establishing and leading entrepreneurial organizations, including the dynamics of organizational behavior, leadership styles, and the influence of culture and communication
  • assess the implications of team composition, diversity, and conflict on the performance of entrepreneurial ventures and the importance of effective networking and resource acquisition
  • develop strategies for resource management in entrepreneurial settings, including bootstrapping, debt, and equity financing, and understand the lifecycle of entrepreneurial finance
  • explore the roles of organizational structure and personnel selection in shaping early-stage ventures and their evolution as the organization grows
  • critique traditional and entrepreneurial approaches to planning, recognizing the varying needs and contexts of entrepreneurial ventures at different stages of growth
