Course description
This course is for students on the Integra programme who already have a strong foundation of general English skills and need to build on their English for academic purposes. On this course students will develop their communication skills in a range of academic and professional contexts. Typical tasks include locating and analysing academic texts as well as critically presenting and discussing field specific topics with peers from various disciplines.

Osaamistavoitteet
On completion of the course, the student is expected to
- have developed the efficient and critical reading skills required for academic study purposes
- be able to communicate and interact effectively in various academic and professional contexts
- be able to work purposefully in teams, negotiating to complete tasks and building on the contributions of others
- recognize, understand and adjust to multiculturality and interdisciplinarity in communication
- be able to access and apply relevant tools and competencies for their own independent academic study needs.

Language level: This course is aimed at students with a minimum CEFR level of B2. We cannot guarantee that students will achieve this level upon completion of the course.
