NEUS1510 Introduction to Cellular and Systems Neurophysiology (1–10 op)

Cellular neurophysiology: membrane permeability and ion transport, cable theory, action potentials,
synaptic transmission, learning and memory, dendrites, neuronal computation, optogenetics and its
uses.
Systems neurophysiology: sensory and motor systems, receptors in sensory systems and signal
transduction, neuronal coding, neuronal processing of sensory information, and motor output

The goal of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge of biological processes taking place in the
brain. The course covers two primary subjects: cellular neurophysiology and systems neurophysiology.
