The course focuses on chemical upcycling of metals, plastics, and bio-based materials.

Osaamistavoitteet

After completing the course, the student:

  • understand the basics of chemical upcycling and resource efficiency,
  • familiarizes herself/himself with the most important sources of raw materials and methods for their upcycling into value-added chemicals and products,
  • and understand the importance of resource efficient utilization of raw materials.

Work life skills:

  • during the project work student learns team working, project management, academic writing, communication, and information seeking skills,
  • whereas seminars educate the student to communicate efficiently the topic related to chemical upcycling to fellow students.

Lectures are given every other year, in academic years 2025-2026 and 2027-2028.
