The course focuses on chemical upcycling of metals, plastics, and bio-based materials.
Osaamistavoitteet
After completing the course, the student:
- understand the basics of chemical upcycling and resource efficiency,
- familiarizes herself/himself with the most important sources of raw materials and methods for their upcycling into value-added chemicals and products,
- and understand the importance of resource efficient utilization of raw materials.
Work life skills:
- during the project work student learns team working, project management, academic writing, communication, and information seeking skills,
- whereas seminars educate the student to communicate efficiently the topic related to chemical upcycling to fellow students.

The course is graded based on the project work (80 %) and the seminar presentation (20 %). At least 50 % of total points of the course is needed to pass the course.
