EKIA214 Pragmatics and Social Interaction (5 op)
Avainteksti
Kuvaus
In this course, we will investigate how people use language in interaction to communicate meaning and negotiate relationships. The focus will be on key concepts of pragmatics and the study of social interaction. We will explore how participation in interaction is structured and how it is shaped by the contexts in which it is embedded. We also examine social and cultural variation and discuss what kinds of interactional norms are adhered to within different communities.
