Presenting at conferences constitutes an invaluable opportunity for doctoral students of all stages to communicate their research. Lately, a variety of new presentation formats including work in progress papers (WIPs), lightning papers and online presentations have gained in popularity. This course helps students to plan, prepare and deliver the presentation of their choice including traditional conference presentations. Students will have the opportunity to give and receive feedback and practice chairing a mock conference.
Osaamistavoitteet
On completion of the course, participants are expected to…
- give a well-structured presentation that effectively communicates their research findings to the audience
- use self-assessment and peer and instructor feedback to identify particular strengths and areas for improvement
- handle discussions in a multicultural and multilingual environment as a presenter and chair
