Description

This is both a theoretical and applied module, which is focused on the knowledge and skills required for specialists to work effectively with individual performers, groups and teams. Practices of SEL skills which include basic counselling skills, such as active listening, clear expression of feelings, beliefs and thoughts using I-messages, problem-solving skills, and taking responsibility. 

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to
- be able to categorize the key psychological principles and practices associated with social and emotional learning (SEL) at individual and at group level in the sport and exercise context
- be able to use basic SEL skills
- be able to interact in diverse contexts and situations.
