Description of the public sector and its function, basics of the welfare economics, microeconomics of the public sector, aims and the influence of the public sector, determination and the structure of public expenditure, basics of taxation, positive and normative theory of taxation

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:
analyse topics in welfare economics
evaluate functioning, orientation and influence of the public sector
explain factors behind the determination of public expenditure and revenues
evaluate tax incidence and the effects of taxation
