This is an advanced course on contemporary topics of cell biology and cancer research. The course consists of lectures, group discussions and assignments.

Learning outcomes

After the course

-the student is familiar with the modern methods to manipulate and image cultured animal cells and model animals to study basic cell biological processes, cell growth, cell communication, and to generate cancer models.

-The student is able to read and understand recent scientific results on cell biology topics.

-The student understand the hallmarks of cancer, theories of cancer evolution and the concept of cancer driver and passenger mutations.

Description of prerequisites

BSci degree or equivalent knowledge in Cell and Molecular Biology.

Study materials

The course is based on research articles and review articles that are given during the course.
