Description

This evidence-based course presents the main subfields of and methodologies employed in international research in music psychology. Topics covered include musical skill development, musical preferences, music and personality, music and movement, music and emotion.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student will be able to

- Describe psychological and related processes related to topics including musical skill development, musical preferences, music and personality, music and movement, and music and emotion in Finnish and in English

- Critically evaluate, compare and summarise various empirical and theoretical propositions and related psychological aspects of music perception, cognition and behaviour in Finnish and in English
