vocabulary studies from the point of view of teaching and learning English as a second/foreign language. Overview & development + current situation. Various strategies and methods of learning and teaching vocabulary. Analysis on learner texts from the point of view of vocabulary and applying a chosen teaching method in teaching vocabulary in practice

Suoritustavat

Readings, pair/group work, analysing learner texts, designing and carrying out a teaching experiment in pairs or in small groups.

Arviointiperusteet

Active participation in class, teaching experiment and final paper.

Osaamistavoitteet

-assess vocabulary studies from the point of view of teaching and learning English as a second/foreign language
-explain and discuss different trends, strategies and methods of learning and teaching vocabulary
-carry out a basic analysis of learner texts from the point of view of vocabulary
-apply a chosen teaching method in teaching vocabulary in practice
