Kuvaus
Sisältö
Texts can be seen as products, structures and processes. Etymologically, the term text originates from the Latin verb texere, meaning “to weave, to join, to construct.” The question is how the elements of language are woven together to produce a communicative system. This course gives an overview of the main trends in the study, analysis and categorization of texts. Special attention will be paid to the structure and design of online texts. The course will integrate approaches from text linguistics, cognitive theories, genre analysis, social semiotics, and web usability.
