Sisältö
This unit discusses ways in which literacy in the contemporary world increasingly involves multimodality as a crucial dimension, and how both engagement in literacy practices and learning literacies build on participation and collaboration.

Independent study, written or oral exam.
Arviointiperusteet
Exam
Students' exam answers show good command of the conceptual, theoretical and methodological aspects of the topic and student knows how to apply what has been read in the exam answers. There are two questions in the exam, both of which need to be answered and passed in order for the exam to be approved.
Osaamistavoitteet
After studying the books, the students will be able to
◾describe the transformation and our understanding of literacy as new, multimodal, ‘literacies’
◾understand the processual and participatory nature of contemporary literacies
◾analyze various kinds of media discourses from the perspective of collaborative learning
