Content

In this course the students will familiarise themselves with critical thinking and knowledge production as well as knowledge processing in relation to the studies and working life skills of a language expert. The course provides the students with the ability to understand the linguistic base of contemporary expert work and develops critical literacy skills and discourse skills.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student
• is able to observe language and its role in knowledge production and assessment, critical thinking and problem solving
• recognises the significance of critical thinking, critical literacy and discourse skills as parts of the working-life toolkit of a language expert
• has gained ability to assess, process and produce knowledge critically and to format knowledge for different audiences
• can search for information in research literature and websites in specific fields
